‘Be Mighty. Recycle.’ is Wales’ largest and most ambitious recycling campaign.

Contributing to Welsh Government’s goal of becoming a zero-waste nation by 2050 and boosting Wales to become the no.1 recycling nation in the world.

Wales is leading the way in recycling. 95% of Welsh citizens regularly use their council-provided collection services, making Wales the best recycling nation in the UK and third best in the world.

But that figure drops to 78% for food waste recycling, with most citizens not recycling as much as they could.

A quarter of what's put in the ‘rubbish’ bin for non-recyclable waste is made up of food waste. That's an enormous 110,000 tonnes annually – enough to fill 3,300 double decker buses! Astonishingly, most of this could have been eaten.

We want to be a nation that never throws food waste into the rubbish bin, where edible food is used, and inedible food waste always goes in the food waste caddy, to be recycled and turned into cleaner, greener energy for Wales.

This campaign aims to inspire people to use their food that’s about to go bad, whilst recycling all their inedible food waste.
